If necessary, we reserve the right to prioritize Showcase attendance for those who teach or will teach UCSF students, residents, fellows, and post-docs at UCSF and affiliated institutions, and UCSF staff who find the program relevant to their work.

Our keynote speaker Dr. John Young will explain how he perceives that cognitive load theory provides a lens for examining learning in the clinical environment.  He has studied handoffs from this perspective and can offer recommendations related to education, structure and the environment. His most recent work explores emotion in the context of cognitive load.
