To distribute materials for prior review by members, send them by Friday at 9am. For handouts to be copied, e-mail them by noon on Monday, otherwise bring 6 copies.

WHAT:  Informational seminar for the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation Faculty Scholars Program (


  • To identify and nurture promising educational innovators in medicine and nursing.

    • Scholars will implement new educational innovations at their home institutions and participate in career development activities.

PLEASE NOTE:  The link provided above is for last year’s opportunity.  The purpose of this announcement is to invite you to an informational seminar well in advance of the opportunity being announced in an effort to allow maximum time for proposal development. 


  • A doctorally-prepared faculty member in good standing at the sponsoring institution

  • Have served five years or more as a faculty member, ideally at the sponsoring institution

  • Must have an identified faculty mentor who will provide advice on the candidate’s project and career development

  • Have an educational innovation project with the appropriate institutional support

  • Have an institutional commitment for the protection of at least 50% of time

  • Be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or its territories

 NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS UCSF MAY SUBMIT:  1 each for School of Nursing and School of Medicine
