  1. DOC reviewed video pilot project assessment report (Tom B.) - deferred to January

  2. John Chodacki has been elected to FORCE11 Board.   

  3. UCSD is going to participate in the ANDS 23 (research data) Things. Targeting subject specialists especially, but open to all Library staff. Will finish in June, and be followed by a library carpentry workshop.

  1. Schema.org (Vessela E.)

    1. Google indexes content for searches; schema.org schema has fields that include ORCID

      1. Google’s markup tool (and validation tool) for datasets through schema.org.

      2. https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/datasets

      3. http://schema.org/author click on “more” for the option to leave feedback

      4. DASH was able to include this JSON file.

      5. JSON has fields for author names, but no ID’s yet (e.g. ORCID). Can make the suggestion for that field.

Instructor Training: “We are pleased to announce that Software Carpentry (http://software-carpentry.org) and Data Carpentry (http://datacarpentry.org) will offer an instructor training course May 4-5, 2017.  This course will take place in Portland, OR, in conjunction with csv,conf,v3, a community conference for data makers everywhere.  Our two-day course is open to all but will be geared towards training members of the library community as Software and Data Carpentry instructors. Future Agenda Items

Open Science Framework: how are you using it? Who’s involved?

Software Research Project - John B. and a collaborator at UCB are gearing up to collect data on how researchers use, share, and value code. By January, we should be well on our way to getting IRB approval.

DMPTool added a metrics dashboard.  Its is a simple view into usage.  Maybe Stephanie Simms can give us a peek?
